This paper discusses the denationalization of the soybean sector in Brazil and presents the history of some companies in the production chain, as a result of the mergers and acquisitions process that took place in the recent period.
In the field of production, transportation, soybean crushing and oil production, the soybean sector is formed by foreign and national companies, in addition to a significant portion of cooperatives; however, foreign companies Bunge Alimentos (USA), Cargill (USA), Archer Daniels Midland-ADM (USA) and LDCommodities (France) control most of the production, export and crushing of soybeans and are, respectively, the first to appear in the different company classifications.
In a characterization of the Brazilian soybean sector, therefore, in addition to foreign companies, it can be divided between Brazilian companies and cooperatives.
