Impact of the COVID19 pandemic on the educated population of Lichinga, Niassa - Mozambique

Modern world has faced a progressive microbial unification related with agriculture practices, commerce, and transport technology. Through a literature review, systematized a set of determinants present in serious epidemic contexts in the 21st century, particularly in the African. They reflect on how the process of globalization and hyperconnectivity has impacted different regions, contributing to the spread of infectious outbreaks, forcing the review of the International Health Regulations (2005), and the adoption of international commitments to prepare for global health. Through a survey, carried out in partnership between researchers from the University of Coimbra, Portugal, and the University Rovuma, located in the city of Lichinga, province of Niassa, Mozambique, it is intended to evaluate how the pandemic by COVID impacted that territory, what perceptions were built by the affected populations and what kind of protection strategies was developed locally. The survey is aimed at the literate population in the ??influence area of Lichinga. As an area of ??less accessibility, northern Mozambique, a country that ranks 181 on the HDI (2020). Research Goals 1 - Assess the impact of COVID 19 in Lichinga, northern Mozambique, district of Niassa; Niassa province has the lowest levels of education and income in the country; 2- Understanding the impact of COVID 19 on the daily lives of the population. Fieldwork:Survey carried out by students at UniRovuma University; to a convenience sample, between the months of June and July 2021. Evaluated domains: (i) Trustworthiness in Information about Covid-19, (ii) Health Literacy: COVID 19; (iii) Prophylactic recommendation and compliance levels; (iv) Access to Profilatic Recommendations and profilatic measures; (v) income changes towards COVID; (vi) return to school COVID impact. Researchers believe they can contribute to a better characterization and understanding of the impact generated by COVID in this marginal territory.
