‘Spaces of trauma’ convey different imprints and pain for women occupying different geographies across scale and time. Healers in their varied forms occupy a most coveted position in the spaces of trauma, violence, suffering, distress, neglect, and injuries that women experience and generate positivity. This paper is all about Healers of different kinds who sanitize the spaces of trauma for women. Covid 19 has only accentuated the concerns and need for institutional Support towards redressing the issue. Present Paper reflects on the dual experience of the author gathered as a Principal Investigator of the ongoing project, titled “Mapping Good Practices of Institutions Supporting of Redressal of Violence Against Women in India”[1]and her experience of transacting a manual on Violence and Injuries with more than 500 Medical Officers (MO) across India in the capacity of a National trainer under Rashtriya Kishor Swasthya Karyakram (RKSK), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. The research confirms three findings one that trained healers can heal and lessen the sufferings of women from spaces of trauma, two that the knowledge of local geography expands the healing process and help in converting the “spaces of trauma” to “spaces of wellness” and third that institutional support in a structured format expedites the process of healing. The research further, provided a three-level framework for addressing the concerns of spaces of Women’s trauma and gave insights and future strategies for VAW Redressal institutions to address Violence Against Women (VAW) before and during COVID-19 Pandemic and their preparedness for the same.
