The article analyses the implementation in progress of the hybrid space of e-health in France. A definition of the hybrid spaces of e-health is proposed. These devices take the form of teleconsultation kiosks located in places traditionally not dedicated to providing healthcare. The mass installation of these kiosks has been accelerating since 2019 under the promise of fighting medical desertification. The article compares this promise and the reality of the implementation in France. A spatial analysis is proposed, showing that the hybrid spaces of eHealth appear primarily on the territories already well-equipped with access to medical care and less frequently as an answer to the medical desertification. The article also shows that what defines the location of these devices is the prior presence of pharmacies on the French territory, which consequently only widens the healthcare accessibility gap between already well-equipped urban territories and medical deserts. Finally, we propose and discuss three scenarios of the future development of the hybrid spaces of e-health in France.
