The risk of flooding in Algeria is part of the ten major risks present on the territory, it is in second position after earthquakes and geological risks in the national classification of major risks.
The present communication aims at the realization of a risk mapping, on the one hand; using a hydrological model to calculate the hydrological response through the SCS-CN model of calculation of losses (infiltration. Evaporation...) and direct runoff, and on the other hand using a hydraulic model to calculate the height of the water through the schematization of hydrographic network and topographic data in an urban environment. To this end, this modest study is made to spatialize the risk of flooding in order to determine the response of urban planning to climate change in the sub-catchment area of the wadi El-Harrach in the east of the Algerian capital Algiers.
The results of this study show that the flooding of the wadi El Harrach can cause significant damage, flooding several houses and neighborhoods, paralyzing industrial zones and cutting off communication channels. In this direction, in the future, our research will be directed towards the critical zones to evaluate this vulnerability in relation to the sewerage networks.
