This presentation focuses on e-service geographies. They are important part of contemporary life and digitalization has changed communication and consumption patterns, particularly in cities and urban environments. The presentation is based on a short article to be published later this year (Inkinen 2022). Here, I divide e-services into two main categories: private and public services. The service production and deliveries form a complex web of interactions embedded into urban structures. As for one, majority of electronic services are produced and consumed in urban environments, and therefore they comprise one essential element of informational living and urbanism. Service provision models differ according to the specifics of each service. The provision logic exemplifies concepts of divergence and convergence in the theory of the socially constructed technologies. I will present and discuss some of the latest public-private integrations in the service provision and frame them into location-based digitalization discourse that is essentially created in urban contexts.
