The Covid-19 pandemic showed the vulnerability of open borders, and hence too of a cross-border labour market. In the Greater Region of Saarland, Lorraine, Luxembourg, Wallonia and Rhineland-Palatinate - Europe's largest cross-border labour market - especially, the need for cross-border workers became obvious in Luxembourg where nearly 50% of the workforce belong to this group.
What special challenges arose during the pandemic crisis? What long-term changes were initiated to ensure and support a cross-border labour market?
