Pink consumption spaces imply a set of consumption places that are created and/or characterized by a higher degree of openness toward the LGBTQ community. In this research we analyse the characteristics of pink consumption spaces in the City of Zagreb, an administrative unit that stands out with the highest value of the gay index in Croatia. With the aim of detecting the places of pink consumption and noticing their characteristics, 14 in-depth interviews were conducted. Interlocutors were of different age groups, gender and sexual identities. It has been established there are only a few pink consumption places in Zagreb, and they are all concentrated in the central part of the capital. At the same time, those places are hidden from the public. Most of them belong to the entertainment consumption system (cafes, night clubs). However, they are oppositional to the majority heteropatriarchal community and subversive towards it. Pink consumption areas are important as they are safe places providing the opportunity for social interaction of LGBTQ people from Zagreb and the surrounding area. Moreover, these are the most important locations for the functioning of the LGBTQ community in Zagreb in general. Also, it has to be said that these places tend to be (homo)normative, which is reflected in the statements that more desirable people are those who are "not too different", then gay men and lesbians in relation to other sexual and gender minorities and finally, young compared to older.
